We ask that people limit their power use for the duration of the work to prevent overloading of the generators and potentially causing a widespread outage.

As a precaution, in case of an unexpected loss of supply during the work, we recommend you:

  1. Turn off unnecessary equipment and loads.
  2. If you are reliant on electricity for medical support equipment please contact your medical provider for advice.
  3. Lift and store enough drinking water from personal water wells before the power goes off.
  4. Fill up your gas cylinder for the BBQ and your petrol tank – remember pumps and EFTPOS won’t work if the power goes off.
  5. Treat all powerlines and electrical wiring as being live at all times.
