We ask that people limit their power use for the duration of the work to prevent overloading of the generators and potentially causing a widespread outage.
As a precaution, in case of an unexpected loss of supply during the work, we recommend you:
- Turn off unnecessary equipment and loads.
- If you are reliant on electricity for medical support equipment please contact your medical provider for advice.
- Lift and store enough drinking water from personal water wells before the power goes off.
- Fill up your gas cylinder for the BBQ and your petrol tank – remember pumps and EFTPOS won’t work if the power goes off.
- Treat all powerlines and electrical wiring as being live at all times.
If you are reliant on electricity for medical support equipment, please contact your medical provider for advice.
