The Top Energy Consumer Trust held its Annual Public Meeting on 28 July, providing an opportunity for Far North consumers to hear directly from the Trust and Top Energy.

Trust Chair Yvonne Sharp said the meeting reflected the Trust’s wider responsibility to keep consumers informed and ensure Top Energy remains focused on delivering long-term value for the Far North.

“Consumer ownership means Top Energy is held for the benefit of the Far North people and businesses connected to its network,” she said.

“Our role is to protect that ownership; monitor the company’s performance and ensure the interests of consumers remain central to its long-term direction.”

At the meeting, Ms Sharp provided an overview of the ownership structure, the Trust’s performance, key responsibilities and areas of focus.

Top Energy representatives followed providing highlights of the last year, an operational update on Network and Ngāwhā geothermal power station performance and how the company delivered against the objectives contained in the Statement of Corporate Intent.
